Going Underground

The brief was to create a space that would include a Guest Bedroom and Ensuite Bathroom that would make Sabeena and Daryl’s guests feel like they were in a hotel. An existing basement which thankfully had full ceiling height, had to be completely stripped out, tanked in order to make fully waterproof with new stud walls formed. An ambitious twelve week schedule was agreed; the materials, fixtures and fittings were all ordered well in advance and stored off site until the rooms were ready for installation.

“We really have to thank Geoff and his team for how everything turned out; the finish and detail really is impressive and best of all, we have added considerable value to our home but selling is something that we won’t now ever consider.” said Sabeena.

Daryl commented “Geoff had great vision and to specify the book-matched marble for the Bathroom really gives it an opulent feel. Geoff also helped us with the fittings for the Bathroom...we love the wall hung toilet and having the vanity unit wall hung too was a stroke of genius; it really makes the space feel so big.”

Geoff said “You would be surprised how many clients want their bedrooms and bathrooms to feel like a hotel – and a 5 star hotel at that! Contrary to what you might think, it doesn’t have to cost a fortune and it’s all about sourcing good products, fixtures and fittings and above all, getting them installed by professionals. Sabeena and Daryl have been fantastic to work with and my next task is to persuade them to let me do their Kitchen.”
