Matrix Design&Build - Wow factor!

Wow factor!

When Natalie and Joseph Di Castro wanted a kitchen with wow factor, they decided to cast a wide net calling in no less than ten companies to tender for the project.

“Costs varied widely despite us being quite organised and preparing a tender document detailing precisely what we wanted. We were inexperienced in building but thought we would be methodical in our approach” states Joseph. “We needed to knock through a couple of walls and all the electrics and plumbing would need doing too so we were a little apprehensive but excited at the same time”.

A big consideration was time scale and specifically that they would not be able to be on site for a majority of the work due to work commitments. “We coincided the work with a two week holiday and then factored in another three weeks so in all, we felt five weeks would be ample to get the project completed. Above all, we didn’t want to be living with dust and eating out every day is expensive!”

Natalie says “We chose Matrix Design & Build based upon their previous work and references; we visited some previous projects and really liked their attention to detail. Everything was costed out and their whole approach from start to finish was utterly professional and in control – we needed that.”

The result was indeed a kitchen and living space with wow factor - a combination of high gloss cream and wenge cabinetry blend stylishly with the muted colour palette with injections of colour from soft furnishings. Bifold doors, Miele appliances, quartz work surfaces and large format floor tiles, all sourced through Matrix Design & Build.

“On budget and on time; no complaints whatsoever and Geoff and his team devoted so much time to us for which we are really grateful.”
